A movie that will keep you laughing.

Over Her Dead Body was released in February of 2008 and runs for 95 minutes. This movie is listed as a comedy, fantasy and romance film. I have to admit that this movie fits all these categories. Over Her Dead Body is rated PG 13 because of the sexual content and language. I personally did not see anything wrong with the language and as for as sexual content, I did not see any problem there either.

The movie starts out in a garden where a weding reception is going to take place. The tables and flowers are lovely. The woman who is getting married is running around giving orders to everyone. She is extremely bossy. The next thing you will see is a man arrive with the ice statue for the party. She had ordered an angle. The man showed her the angle however, she was not happy with it. The angle did not have any wings so in her opinion the statue was not an angle. She ordered the man to take it back and fix it. When the truck pulls off the ice statue falls from the truck right on the woman who is about to be married and I am sorry to say kills her.

The next scene is totally hilarious. The dead woman wakes up in an all white room. She is totally confused. There is a woman with dark hair there trying to tell her why she was not in heaven. However, the dead woman would not listen to her and said that she was not an angle because she had no wings. Needless to say the woman made the angle very angry and she left before she could explain anything. So now the dead woman is wandering around not knowing what she is supposed to do and making up her own rules as she goes. This will keep everyone laughing.

Eva Longoria Parker plays Kate the woman who is killed before her wedding. Kate is a very stubborn and really out spoken woman. She doesn't listen because she is too busy talking. This will keep you in stitches as she makes mistakes.

Paul Rudd plays Henry. Henry is supposed to marry Kate however, with her death he becomes a recluse. He works and goes home but has no life other than that. It is hard for him to get over the lose of Kate.

Lake Bell plays Ashley a person who can talk to the dead. Ashley is also a caterer for special events. Ashley is this carefree fun loving woman with an out going personality.

Jason Biggs plays Dan who is Ashley's gay partner and best friend. He is the one that Ashley turns to when she is sad and needs to confide in someone. The problem is that Dan is not very good in the kitchen and we are not sure he is gay either. For more information on this subject you will have to watch the movie.

Lindsay Sloane plays Chloe the sister of Henry. Chloe is also accident prone and she is always trying to push her opinion on her brother. Chloe loves her brother and wants him to be happy so she will introduce him to Ashley with the hopes she will be able to get him to move on with his life. However, she did not expect Ashley to start dating her brother.

There are so many funny scenes that it is hard to decide which one to tell you about. I think my favorite scene is when Kate comes over the loud speaker of the gym saying there is a gas leak and everyone must leave the building. Well, it just so happens that Ashley is in the middle of a shower when she here this message. Ashley comes running out of the ladies locker room with her arm around her boobs and a towel around her waist. The men are staring at her because there was no loud speaker in the gym. Ashley was so embarrassed but recovered fast. This is just one of the many tricks that Kate plays on Ashley to keep her away from Henry.

My Opinion:

I found this movie to be very entertaining. There is a great story here as well as laughs. My husband even found this movie to be worth watching. This is a movie for the whole family. My daughter watched the movie first and told me about it. Now this movie is part of our dvd collection. I am sure that you will also find this movie worth watching.
