Author's Review
I bought this digital camera for my husband, who works as a comercial diver in the gulf of mexico. I figured he needed something practically unbreakable and definitely water-resistant. It was pricey, but considering his last camera lasted a few months, it was well worth it. He has had this one for about a year and it has never had any problems, regardless of the regular beatings it takes. He brings me back amazing videos of dolphins and shallow dives. I really just bought it because it was a tough camera, but it turns out to get incredibly high quality pictures and video. It's also got some great features for altering pictures.
He comes home with a bunch of pics and video, uploads it to his computer, then he's ready to fill it up again. He took it to a water park a week ago and put it around his wrist when going down a huge water slide. The video was hilarious and even though the camera was getting flung around the entire time, the picture was great.
There has been so many times with our other camera that we didn't take it with us for fear of it getting broken. But there has yet to come a time when we leave this one behind.
They must have used a special screen, because it's still not even scratched.
I paid the extra $59 for the warranty, but it covered it for and extra 2 years even if it's my fault. They also said that i didn't even have to bring in the whole camera. If it for some reason smashed to pieces, i could just bring whatever i had left and they would replace it. I don't know if they do that at all Bestbuys or if they still do that for this camera, it's just the deal that I got.
I plan to buy another for myself when my current camera dies on me. I won't get the extra warranty though. I just can't imagine an instance where it could get broken.
