The convenience of a corded electric shaver is the best kept secret in the shaving world. Unless you need to shave in the backyard, why would you mess with heavy, limited-life, expensive rechargeable batteries? This Norelco does a fine job of shaving if you take your time, don't press too hard, and use it over a long enough time to let your skin get used to it. The cord has never gotten in my way, and I have found maybe two places in many trips where there isn't an electric outlet by the sink. My fancier Remington can leave my skin raw and red, even after I've used it over a long period of time. The Remington can actually shave better, but it can really do a number on my skin. And we all know what blood a traditional blade can draw. The Norelco 6423 is not super-tough in construction, so I wouldn't pack it if I were going where it would get knocked around, but for normal use, it's fine. The Norelco is easy enough to clean and the popup trimmer is fine for my purposes.
