Nintendo Wii - We Are Hooked!
Date of Review: Apr 15, 2008
The Bottom Line: I recommend this because you get your own character and it is fun for everyone!
This advanced video game console has some great and fun gaming! The whole family will enjoy playing this! The Wii is more interactive than other video game systems. You may think, "The Wii is just another video game that is great for kids, but not adults." I have to day, you would be completely wrong. (You might even find yourself fighting over playing it!)
The Wii is completely different than other gaming systems! The controllers are wireless. You actually interact while you play instead of just pressing buttons. For example, when you bowl you have to bring the controller back and follow through with your throw or else the bowl will curve or you may get a gutter ball.
On the Wii, you don't have to play Wii games alone, you can also play Gamecube games. But even if you only want to play Wii games there are still many choices! This gaming is fun for the whole family, mainly because there are such a huge variety of games but also because it is interactive and fun to play overall.
The remotes work by pointing them at the TV and moving them around and your hand will move around. They do take a little bit to get used to, but you will catch on fast. Besides half of the games you don't have to point at the TV!
The Wii comes with one Wii remote and one nunchuk. The other contents with the Wii are the actual console, the console stand, the sensor bar, the AC adapter and a cable. Wii Sports is included with the Wii and is a really fun game!
The Wii can stand in two ways, it can lay flat or stand up. If you stand it up, than you can use the grey Wii stand which is used to support the Wii as it stands. The sensor bar is what you need for the remotes or else it won't pick up the signal from your controller. This can go above or underneath your television set.
The Wii is easy to set up and it isn't much simpler than plugging in a couple cords. Wii Sports is a fun game and you can play tennis, baseball, bowling, golfing or boxing. You can play verse computers or humans. You try to get your skill level up and once it gets to 1000 you are considered pro at that sport. In Wii Sports you can also train with certain games for the different sports. My favorite training is the Power Throws for bowling and that is where each frame the number of pins increases until it gets to 91. You can also find out your Wii Fitness age by a simple test. That is not accurate for kids.
Wii has internet and e-mail but you would either need Wi-Fi internet or a cable to connect to your Wii. Another nice feature about the Wii is that you get to make your own character and play with them on all the games. This called your Mii. You get to choose everything from the height of the eyebrows to the color of your shirt! When you have friends over, they can make them too because you can have more than one Mii.
The best Wii games that I would recommend are Wii Play, Smooth Moves and Guitar Hero 3 (my favorite.)All ages will have fun with this! I think this is the best game system invented by far! It is better than X-Box and Playstation and all Nintendo products combined! You will enjoy this and so will everyone else. We all love the Wii!
