My 10, 12, & 13 year old children got this for Christmas and the next day I had to go get it for the 16 & 17 year old kids. It is like having a dog but not all the requirement that comes along with it. You feed, walk and clean your dog, take them to the park, buy the food and enter them in contest for money. You can meet other dogs (people with another DS) and play with their dogs.
What a wonderful game. I have gotten addicted to it also.
