A quality lens to exercise your composition

This is a lens I appreciate for its angle forces us on composition. I find its challenge is to make images that don't look as if taken with a 50mm. When you master it, results are gratifying. I call it an "exercise lens" for this reason.

I have two samples of this lens. They came with used bodies I bought last year. One is VERY nice, sharp even wide open. The other I feel is not that sharp. This variation may come from the use it had or even manufacturing. None have any sign of abuse, both are in mint condition. Color and contrast are the same. The one I prefer recently went for cleaning, it came with a bit of fungus, but nothing to worry about. The other have a few dust (very small particles) inside but nothing that compromises image quality and I'll sell it this way

I always loved available light photography and this lens is fast enough to shoot scenes you wouldn't with todays zooms. Even the fast 2.8 ones. Its bokeh is very nice, with smooth color transitions. Build quality is amazing, a little tank, focus mechanism smooth and precise.

50mm lenses, once the "normal" lenses, are becoming "abnormal" today. I find this a pity for it's a hell of a composition school. Zooms are practical but this lens is a teacher, as long as the student is looking for classes and that's what separates boys from men.
