Upgrade from compact

Date of Review: Aug 26, 2008

The Bottom Line:  If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't change a thing!
I was wanting to upgrade from my Compact to an SLR, but was so intimidated by what was out there. After reviewing the quality of this particular SLR, and going into a store to look it over, I became more excited to use it. I think it is a good step up. It produces high quality pictures, and allows you plenty of room, especially as a beginner, to get more creative with your photography. I am excited now to expand and buy some of the additional lenses to broaden my abilities with this awesome camera.
I was slightly disappointed when I found out you could only use the viewfinder to view your pictures before taking them. But became quickly accustomed to the viewfinder, as with old 35 mm cameras. You can still view the pictures you have taken on the screen, which is very nice. You can also do mild editing with the camera itself, which I thought I would never do, but used this attraction within one week of buying the camera.
This is the camera to buy if you want to take better pictures, are new at photography and don't want to pay and arm and a leg for other SLRs.

Limited to use of view finder when taking pics. Became accustomed to Viewscreen.
