Author's Review
While at the Toy store picking up my new Nintendo Gameboy Advance (in Arctic color) I decided to browse the game shelf to see what they had for the Advance.
When I saw this game, I knew I just had to get it. I'm a sucker for the old videogames that I grew up with. Playing this cartridge brings me right back to my childhood and I can almost smell the pizza and rootbeer and begin to feel my pockets grow heavy with quarters from the change machine. Of course, with this game on the Gameboy Advance, you don't have to feed any quarters in, and the entire system fits in your pocket!
This game cartridge includes all of these games on it:
Pole Position, Ms. Pacman, Dig Dug, Galaxian and Galaga.
Without reviewing each individual game, I'm sure you can see that it's quite a good mix of oldies but goodies videogames. My favorite one is Galaga. I find it has the best, fastest, action and is just a blast to play. I question why they included Galaxian on this cartridge, because it is so similiar to Galaga (but not as fun in my epinion)!
I really dig Dig Dug too, but I've never been very good at it, even when I was a kid. Now I don't have an excuse-I can play it all I want without having to waste quarters!
The sound and color are excellent on the Gameboy Advance and the screen is bigger too. You will get some great entertainment out of this game pak. I think it's worth the price, given that it comes with 5 different games in one!
Playing these evokes memories of the glory pioneer days of videogames. They games were so innovative for their time. They were cute, fun and funny and had very simply ideas by today's standards, but they feel pure and remain enjoyable.
