The world's greatest detectives

This '70s Neil Simon film spoofs the great detective movies and novels of the 30s and 40s. It runs on Encore every few months. I'm not a great Neil Simon fan, but I enjoy this movie for the great casting and frenetic pace.

The cast is a Who's Who of comedy. Peter Sellers, David Niven, Peter Falk, James Coco, Sir Alec Guinness, Truman Capote, Nancy Walker and Marsha Mason each play Simon's demented version of well-known detectives and their sidekicks.

The plot is convoluted. It's a combination of Clue and Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, with several good twists that you won't expect. Truman Capote's character invites the world's greatest detectives to his secluded country estate, and challenges them to solve his own murder. Don't miss a minute, or you'll be left wondering who said what.
