The best combination of price, function and quality

by   race136 ,   Oct 18, 2005

Pros:  clear sound, easy to read display, full functionality, great price and no interference.

Cons:  can think of any.

The Bottom Line:  Although this has been out for a while, but it is the best combination of all the functions and price.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

For the longest time, we are searching for a cordless phone that doesn't hear someone else's conversation or loose connection when I go outside. It is tough to find. Then we come across this phone about a year ago. After reading some great reviews, we decided to give a try.

We ask a lot in a phone. It must have dual (handset and base unit) dialing capability, answering machine, speaker phone, caller ID, multiple handset function and inexpensive. We found only 2, this one and the Panasonic. We had trouble with our old Panasonic speaker phone. It was so un-sensitive, I had to be on top of the speaker to someone can hear me. The decision is simple and we glad we made this choice.

As soon as we received the phone, we put the speaker to the test. First, my wife sits 3 feet away and I can barely notice she is talking through a speaker phone. Then she roams round the office between 6-9 feet away and I can still hear her. The best I have experienced other than the office professional equipment.

All the setup is digital, but very intuitive. I didn't need a guide to do this. On the base, there are 3 button with matching display in the LCD screen for "Redial", "Menu", "Phonebk". With a bright blue backlite, you won't have trouble read it. Going through menu section, you will be able to set the ring tone, ring volume, caller ID log, keypad tone, language, contrast. Some people have complain that the redial button is none existence or hard to use. It does need time to get use to. What you need to do is to push the redial button, a list of phone number you have called shows up. Go down the list and choose the phone number you want and push call. That's it. The reason they didn't create a redial button like old style phone is that using new technology, user is able to redial past 10 or 20 numbers rather than the traditional last number.

Another great thing about this phone is the answering machine. Although it only has 15 minutes limit, it is very clear and doesn't have the mechanical sound those older digital machines have. And last, the phone comes with a belt clip and headset input so you can walk around the house and talk all day long if you want to. Of course the battery doesn't last that long, but it is good for a few hours of talking.

How can you beat a cordless phone with all the functionality, no interference, clear speaker phone and quality design. This is a winner.
