Its Mission: Impossible-2, I loved the first one, if you were to see it here I would have given it a 4 most likely, so it's only natural I would be drawn into see the second as soon as I could. Well, I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't ecstatic over it either. The plot for this summer blockbuster I think was overly simple, and rather basic. You had your romance element and you had your action element, both which revolve around the female lead in some way. John Woo is what saved the movie, that and some of the acting. The movie is total Woo and definitely visually gratifying. With maxxed out and intense action sequences to help and his classic style of slow motion at all the right places, Woo masterfully pulled you into the story with his softer scenes and left you in awe of the action. The acting was ok with strong and classic performances from Cruise and Rhames, and Newton was just out and out cute at some points. Scott however didn't pull his roll off as well as he could of, leaving his character a little less then diabolical and evil. In all, it's a good movie you should see on the big screen for its action, but don't expect i the first Mission: Impossible.
