Midwest Living is More Than Home Making Ideas

When I first started flipping through this magazine, I noticed a lot of great ideas for decorating the house. I kept getting my mother-in-law's copies so I could get some ideas for my new house.

But then I really started to look at it. Not just skimming through the pages for ways to make my home brighter and how to get my kids rooms more organized. Instead I found a lot of other interesting articles and recipes that I had never noticed before.

In looking at my newest copy of Midwest Living I find fun ideas for the kids and how to entertain at your own holiday get-togethers. There are also great articles on traveling and using quaint Inns and cabins. Fashions to make you look festive during the upcoming holiday season and the treats you can whip up to make everyone's tummy's happy are also included.

One of the interesting things that Midwest Living that you don't always see in these types of magazines is their Information Guide. Supplying you with the phone numbers for hundreds of companies on travel, decorating, automotive, and others. Some companies offer free catalogs, tourist guides, or savings on their products.

Many of the midwestern states also advertise within the magazine, giving you some great ideas on where you might want to go on your next family vacation or romantic get-away.

The only thing I really do not like about the magazine are all the little cards that are stuck in it. There are probably more than a dozen cards for giving gift subscriptions, requesting information for travel, and ordering newsletters and catalogs.

The first thing I usually do when I get the magazine is tear out all of the cards so it is easier to flip through without having automatic bookmarks.

But Overall, I do enjoy reading this magazine. I would have kept on taking my mother-in-laws when she was finished with them, but she decided to give me my own subscription. So now I don't have to wait for her to finish reading it, and I don't have to travel two hours to get it. Instead, once a month, it is delivered right to my own house.
