I first played Midtown Madness at a local computer store, which was just a demo version. From the start of the game, you could see that you were in for a wild ride. I had the chance to play the complete version at my friends house. He could not take me away from the computer. Midtown Madness is the one of the most fun, exciting games I have ever played in my lifetime. The possibilities are endless in this game, with stunning graphics and great sound.
There are a few modes in Midtown Madness that make it a lot of fun. There is a Race mode in which you race other cars through the busy streets of Chicago. I found this mode a little hard to master, but once you've got the hang of out, it's great fun. The other mode, Cruise Mode, is the best aspect of the game. You are given no limits to just drive throughout Chicago creating paths of destruction in your wake. The only drawback is that if you hit too many things, your car will brake down so you will have to start from the beginning. Add in a few No Damage codes (check out www.ign.com for some great codes) and the game is perfect. There really is nothing more entertaining then driving as fast as you can for busy streets disregarding all traffic lights and road signs.
Another incredible part of the game is the graphics. I have never seen better graphics for a car game on PC in my life. The shadows are incredible as are the details shown on the cars on the road. The better your graphics card, the better the graphics will look. If you do buy the game, goto www.racingcentral.com for a chance to download new cars that are a lot of fun to use (i.e. a car than can exceed speeds of 600 MPH, and an army truck). If you are a racing fan, or have never playing a racing game in your life, you should check out this game.
