I am a self-taught old guy who's been messing with computers for about 12 years. I've used Windows 95, 98, 2000, and XP, as well as Mac. Windows Vista Home Premium is the WORST operating system I have ever had the misfortune to use...and I'm STUCK with the mailto:#$@&%$% thing! I spend more time trying to find things and use things than I do working!!!!
The system is slower than XP.Screens are constantly disappearing, and I have had to reboot 3 times (I bought my computer in January). Even being a "newbie" I had little trouble with XP (my favorite). Wish I could go back to it. The thing that I really hate is that any technical help from Microsoft comes at a HIGH price...being disabled I do not have hundreds of dollars to solve a minor problem with my computer. Every other service provider and manufacturer I have dealt with was happy to provide assistance, at least as long as the warranty was in effect!
As soon as I am able, I'll consider trying the new Mac! I have a friend that will not use anything else. From what I understand, Apple is happy to help users with problems, and even has retail stores locally to provide assistance. WOW!
