Word 2007 is Much Better Than I Initially Thought

When I purchased a new laptop that had Office 2007 on it, I was concerned. I had been very happy with Office 2003 and I am a creature of habit, so I was resistant to the change. It took me some time to get used to, but now I prefer the newer Word 2007.
Word 2007 is much more user-friendly and intuitive than its predecessors. Microsoft seems to have caught on to the most often used features and made them more easily accessible. For example, instead of having to dig around through menus and windows, you can select strikethrough from an icon directly at the top. Bullets can be added with the right click and formatted as you wish. I no longer have to use the format painter to continue bullets or numbered items. The program almost always performs these operations correctly.
Formatting issues have been all but eliminated. I remember many times that I had strange formatting bugs in the previous incarnations of Word. Adding a bullet would change the indentation for half the page or I'd be unable to get the page numbered correctly.
My only complaint about Word 2007 is the newer docx file format. It isn't backwards compatible and Word 2007 isn't widespread enough to guarantee everyone can read the file. I always have to choose the "Save As" option and save documents as Word 2003-2007 files to ensure anyone can read them.
