2006 mazda 3 grand touring S

Date of Review:  Jun 16, 2006
The Bottom Line: Great car, for a great price, has all the bells and whistles of cars that cost thousands more. Great acceleration and handling, but poor snow performance.
Review: Updated. I have owned this car for about six months now and have put 22,000 miles on it. Also fixed for spelling errors

My initial impressions of this car are the following:

Performance:

I rate the performance of this...

2006 Mazda3. Five star reviews can't be wrong!

Date of Review:  Jul 20, 2006
The Bottom Line: Everything you could want from a luxury car without the high sticker price. You won?t find a better, more equipped small car anywhere.
Review: I did a lot of research before making the decision to buy a Mazda3. I knew what I wanted and I knew how much I wanted to spend. I was able to pickup a fully loaded Mazda3 s Grand Touring (minus the Bose stereo and sunroof) for just under 20k, an...

Great, well built car

Date of Review:  Feb 15, 2006
The Bottom Line: Excellent buy. Quality equal to cars nearly twice the price.
Review: Only negative: Almost impossible to read dials (speed etc.) in daylight (I have seen this fault posted elsewhere.)

The dealer (Portland, Or.) was a pleasure to deal with. Called up to see if they had the color and equipment (5 sp. 5 dr. in...

Thoughtful car under $17K

Date of Review:  May 30, 2006
The Bottom Line: Best buy under $20K for a Japanese car that is fun to drive
Review: Buying a car is not an impulse purchase in my world. I spend time - too much time - researching and analyzing the possibilities. So when it came time to buy a car I looked at everything in the under $20K segment that met certain criteria: better...

Comfort and sportiness collide

Date of Review:  Jun 12, 2006
The Bottom Line: Top of the heap at this price point, unless you are interested in nothing but doing slaloms (then get the Mini)
Review: I have had a Mazda3 GT sedan (that's Mazda3 "S" in the USA, I think) for a few weeks now, and think I can comment on pretty much everything except snow handling and reliability.

The car handles better than I would expect a front-wheel...

Why doesn't everyone have one?

Date of Review:  Aug 2, 2006
The Bottom Line: A quality car with lots of features for thousands less than similarly equipped "sport wagons."
Review: I have driven a manual Mazda 3s Touring Hatchback for 2000 miles since April and I continue to be very impressed with the vehicle and value.

[Note: The "Touring" model adds front and side airbags to the base model. This was important to me...
