Product Review

Love the car, hate the quality

by   dmelchi ,   Nov 1, 2006

Pros:  Fun car to drive, if you do not have problems with the manufacturer quality.

Cons:  poor quality and customer support

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

Purchased an '04 6i manual with all the options the end of '04. Had a few minor problems with broken plastic clips on fuse panel that Mazda would not cover with 1,000 on the car. That item only cost me $50. Recently started experiencing problem with clutch judder. The car would shake violently when starting in first gear. Found Mazda TSB 05-003/05 describing problem resulting from material from which the clutch plate was made. Mazda refuses to cover the issue because the car is more than 12 months old. I'm left with $1300 repair bill for defective pars on a car that is less than 2 years old with 28,000 miles. The car is fun to drive, but I will be selling this vehicle in the next year and will never purchase another Mazda. Mazda customer support said they could not help me. At least GM, Honda, and other manufacturers will provide partial credit if not full replacement for defective parts.
