Magellan Triton 2000 Handheld GPS Receiver

Be careful with Magellan products. Their support is absolutely terrible. I recently performed a software update from their website on my Meridian Color GPS unit which locked the unit up during the updating process leaving the unit completely inoperative.

Their tech support (in India) refused to take the unit (which I paid over $500 for) in for reflashing and said the only thing they could offer me was a discount on a new product. They no longer support my unit, a model that was sold up through Dec of 2005. I tried calling their corporate office in California countless times and you can never get a hold of a real live person.

I am basically left with a perfectly good piece of hardware that they refuse to reprogram and return to operating condition.

Will never buy another product from Magellan. Look for a company that will stand behind their products (and their software updates!).
