Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight -- One of the Best Big Flashlights

Why This Mag Lite

My main reason for buying this Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight is that I wanted to have one strictly for camping.

What I Like

I like that the Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight is simple to use just rotate the head to adjust the lighting and press the button to turn on or off. I also like that it is made in the United States of America so I am supporting fellow Americans jobs. I appreciate the fact that it is heavy enough to deliver a mean punch into a wild animal; for example if feral dog tried to attack.

What I Do Not Like

There is nothing I dislike about it. It is the perfect weight for a big flashlight; however, the Mag Lite 4 "D" Cell would be a little better for striking a feral dog since it weighs somewhat more.

How We Used It & Why

Predominantly the Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight was used as a night light on camping trips to go to the bathroom and avoid safety hazards such as tree stumps, and snakes & camping out in the backyard recently.

I have also used it to light up the tent in candle mode (by unscrewing the top and sitting the flashlight into the head as a base) to see how well it works and I am more than satisfied with the light output.

Quality

It is as high quality as any of the other Maglite Flashlights that you may buy at any fine retailers and granted this item is not abused it will last a lifetime.

Power Source

The Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight is powered by three Duracell D Cell Batteries or at least that it was what I prefer generally.

Light Source

The lighting source for the Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight that I use is an Maglite LED Upgrade Flashlight Kit to extend the battery life up to ten times. Plus the LED is rated to last at least one hundred thousand hours. And I have a standard krypton bulb in the tail cap in the occurence of the LED going out.

Power Duration

The power will last up to eighty hours off of the three Duracell D Cell Batteries in the Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight; however, without the LED upgrade the batteries will last only nine to ten hours long.

Colors Available

You may purchase them in the traditional black, light blue, dark blue, maroon, silver, gray, and pink. In stores usually the colors you will find is black, silver, light blue, and gray, and to find the other colors I suggest looking online.

I am very happy to have bought this Maglite 3 D Cell Flashlight since it has been a pleasure to use. I like that it has a powerful bright beam of light from the flashlight that works very well for lighting up paths or ground or lighting up distant objects or animals.
