Well worth the money!

Date of Review: Jan 2, 2004

The Bottom Line:  I would highly recommend this stroller. The light weight and overall ease of use make it a great stroller not only for traveling, but for everyday use as well.
4/24/09 update
Just wanted to let people know that this stroller is STILL in service. It's currently carting my 3 year old newphew around.  It still looks and performs like new.  You'd never know it was a 6 year old stroller.

3/12/05 update
My son is now 4 1/2 and we're STILL using this stroller. I keep it in the back of my car for those times when he falls asleep in the car and we need to be somewhere. He is a large boy - over 50lbs - and quite tall, and I'm sure this stroller isn't rated for that size, but it's not even groaning under his weight as far as I can tell. He's a bit long for it, but he clearly has no trouble sleeping in it - which is the primary use right now. This stroller should have been the FIRST stroller I purchased, not the 3rd. I highly recommend to anyone that they spend the extra money and get this stroller, instead of wasting their time with lesser quality ones. This stroller will get passed on as well, as it shows very little wear from all it's use.

Original review:
When planning a recent trip to Florida, and Disney World, with a 3 year old, I knew I needed a new stroller - a bulky one just wouldn't cut it. I wanted a lightweight umbrella type stroller, that would open and close easily, maneuver easily in an airport, be tall enough to make pushing comfortable (I'm only 5'6" and yet I find most too short), while at the same time, giving my son a comfy place to take a rest. I found it all and more with the Volo.

The first thing I noticed was the weight. Hands down, it is the lightest stroller I've ever encountered. (two kids and my share of strollers latey, I think I can say for sure) Weighing in at 9lb (feels much lighter), pushing this stroller was effortless. The light weight, combined with high handles made it easy for every member of the family to push. With swivel front wheels and locking back wheels, it maneuvered like a dream. An attached shoulder strap made it a breeze to carry around when not in use. Fold it up, toss it over your shoulder and off you go. It was really that lightweight! Speaking of folding up, it folds easily with one hand (many claim this - but this is true) and locks effortlessly, without ever using a second hand. Once folded, it takes very little space, a must for traveling. Even now, I keep it in my trunk and it is the only stroller I use.

Another great thing about this stroller is the mesh seat. It was perfect for the hot Florida days. I never worried about my son getting wet while in it, as I knew the seat would be dry instantly. The seat also removes for cleaning, but I've found that a quick wipe with a wet cloth was all it ever needed. It comes with a 5 point harness, which can also be used just as a lap belt by unhooking the shoulder straps. This seat does not recline, which I thought might be a drawback, however, my son has no trouble at all napping in it.

The stroller has a large mesh basket underneath. Sadly lacking was a standard sun shade. You can buy one separately in an accessory pack which also contains a seat liner, rain cover and storage bag. However, even in Florida, we didn't necessarily miss it too much.

After two weeks in Disney World, using this 10 hours a day, I can say that it was a joy to have and money well spent.
