Melitta Perfect Touch Coffee Grinder | Stop Me Before I Grind Again!

Date of Review:  Dec 8, 2000
The Bottom Line: A good basic and inexpensive coffee grinder that does the job perfectly.
Review: The blades whirl. "Once more, into the breach my fine lads," I shout out as the deliciously aromatic beans are pulverized into submission. Moments before, I had measured out two scoops of Peets finest coffee beans. My little white Melitta Coffee...

GRINDS MORE THAN JUST COFFEE

Date of Review:  Jan 7, 2001
Review: It seems we get new appliances every year, always something we can never live without. Several years ago, our son sent us a basket filled with several pounds of assorted Starbuck coffee beans plus a lot of other goodies that go with Starbuck coffee...

A Steal at $20. (US)

Date of Review:  Oct 10, 2002
The Bottom Line: This grinder is a steal at $20 (US).
Review: I'm a serious coffee lover. Nothing in it, just black. I love coffee so much that I roast my own beans, but that's another story. Since I'm the only one who drinks coffee in our house, I need to brew smaller batches. This grinder makes it so easy...

Burr grinder, schmur grinder, just get one!

Date of Review:  Jul 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: Spend a little, get a lot? What's not to like? A very good value, and a very good design. Spillage is a problem tho.
Review: I recently wore out my 1st and only burr grinder, a Braun that I had for at least 5 years.

A burr grinder is one that puts the beans through two 'plates', that break up the coffee bean, and creates a uniform size of ground coffee. Ever...

Too bad for Melitta. I thought they were coffee people.....

Date of Review:  Mar 16, 2005
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it. A design that just doesn't measure up.
Review: A self proclaimed coffee fanatic, I was tired of the blade grinder and all that comes with it. wanted a burr grinder that had automatic quantity control, wide selection of grind settings and a hopper that would allow me to brew several pots of...

Good for the price

Date of Review:  Oct 29, 2003
The Bottom Line: For the price, the machine does an adequate, and better than an equally priced blade grinder.
Review: I have been using a Braun "whirlybird" grinder for years. After reading and hearing about the elusive "perfect grind" that could only be achieved with a burr grinder, I secretly hoped my blade grinder would finally wear out.

Not wanting to...

OK, but not great.

Date of Review:  Dec 10, 2007
The Bottom Line: If I had it to do over again I would spend a little more money and choose a slightly more expensive grinder... you get what you pay for.
Review: There were several reasons I decided to buy this grinder.

First… I did not want to spend a lot of money.
Second… getting a burr grinder was important to me.
And finally… I had another grinder that was annoying me and...

Burr-fect!

Date of Review:  Nov 23, 2003
The Bottom Line: A burr grinder is a must for coffee lovers. This unit more than fits the bill for the home user.
Review: A burr coffee grinder is a must for any coffee lover. This unit is perfect for everyday use, and will also make a fantastic holiday gift for anyone who drinks coffee.

The unit is sturdy, and the motor is plenty powerful to get the job...

Didn't Last a Year

Date of Review:  Mar 21, 2004
Review: I bought this coffee grinder less than one year ago. I ground maybe 10 pounds of coffee with it before it died.

An OK grinder if you're not too picky

Date of Review:  Apr 20, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would only recommend it for general grinding purposes. It does not produce a consistent grind, nor does it produce different levels of grounds (coarse to fine). It clogs easily.
Review: Having four different coffee makers (espresso, French press, drip, percolator), I hoped to upgrade from my blade to a burr mill. Not able to spend megabucks, I spotted this one at an outlet store. I quickly found out that the grind settings were not...
