A New Weapon on Dirt!

I admit that this vacuum was purchased as a 'quick pick- up' tool. We have a central vac which is just a pain to haul out when I want to do a quick spot clean after my toddler has eaten or some similar hurricane has hit a room. I was VERY dubious about getting a rechargeable unit as I had an unsatisfactory experience with a Black & Decker rechargeable stick. I am so glad I decided to try this model because I am absolutely thrilled with this Dirt Devil. It has surprisingly strong suction and works well on both hard surfaces and carpet. The charging base is a bit larger than I'd like but the good part is that it is very stable. The unit is unbelievably light and I can even lift it with one finger. I love the folding handle and it is a snap to empty the dirt cup. It is not a replacement for a standard vacuum but it beats every other stick vacuum I've ever owned.
