Great mouse for the price

I replaced my 3 year-old Logitech Wheel Mouse, M/N BJ58 with this mouse with reluctance but am glad I made the switch. The original USB optical mouse worked well for one of the first models of optical mice but I "abused" it enough over time that it was starting to malfunction that's why I searched for a replacement.

I hesitated on getting a wireless optical mouse because I have two other "generic" wireless optical mice and they are both junk. At least one of them came with a cable that I can connect to the computer directly and I use that on one of my desktops.

This Logitech wireless mouse has been working flawlessly for over two weeks now and I am impressed with the accuracy and features.

If you do install this mouse on your computer please make sure you go to the Logitech site and download the latest drivers and software. The new software has some new feature that the original CD did not have. Once you play with the setting for a bit you will find the best mouse speed and other customizable features to your liking.

I was not sure if I would like the two "forward" and "backward" buttons next to the thumb but after a few minutes I got used to it and I find it hard to live without. Again, you can configure the buttons to perform different functions but I kept it at the default setting. When I press the "forward" and "backward" buttons when surfing the web it brings the web page back one page or forward one page. The more times you press the "backward" button the more pages it goes back. When you are reading a word document the buttons will scroll to the next page. In Outlook it will read the next email.

There is a button that will bring up a list of your currently opened documents and you can click to select which one you would like to bring forward.

The scroll wheel is very quiet and also performs the "left" and "right" actions. When you push the scroll wheel to the right it will scroll your screen to the right and the opposite direction will perform the opposite action.

I paid $19.99 for this mouse at www.geeks.com and would highly recommend this mouse for the budget minded folks.
