What a Great Car!

The 1999 Town Car Signature Series, is our sixth Lincoln, going back to the 1985 model.The dealer made a good offer the day that I took our '97 in for service. Since the '99 had a moon roof and heated seats we became interested in what he might want to do. He threw in a carriage roof and some other goodies to sweeten the deal and we bought it.

It handles better than any of the other Lincoln cars and the firm ride does away with the soft wallow of the previous cars. Driving it is pure pleasure with the excellent seats and lumbar support. The average gas mileage on a recent trip out of state was 26 MPG for city and highway combined. The heated seats are great on arthritic joints on a cold day or any other time for that matter, when the bones creak a bit. The instrument panel is easy to read and all the controls work well with all knobs and switches in comfortable operating positions. The body fit and finish is excellent, unlike some other vehicles I have owned, including a '95 Lincoln. The doors close quietly and snuggly.

Anyone who wants a superb ride should buy this car. It would not please the tire burning crowd or the "cool" set but every once in awhile a young person will say, "Nice car" or some such comment. Sometimes they even want to see the engine and I oblige quickly.

The one word that seems to come from nearly everyone who comments is "Beautiful." To a man who, when a kid, always wanted to drive a Lincoln, that word makes me smile every time it is uttered about my car.
