Pros:
The best magical effects for ANY RPG game!
Cons:
The battle system takes time to get used to; lack of the best FMV ever.
The Bottom Line:
The Legend of Dragoon was the sleeper hit of the year. This is one game you've got to try out!

Author's Review
Wild Arms was Sony's first step to becoming a great RPG company like their largest third company supporters, Squaresoft. Now, The Legend of Dragoon makes them even more redeeming in this year's number one title (if nothing else is as good).
The story is simple to understand; guy looking for someone who killed his parents, has to save girl, girl joins him in his quest, they embark on a journey trying to stop the one who captured her in the first place. But that's when things turn tipsy turvey. Another adventure begins within the one that they've started. They'll meet unlikely characters, join up with others who you wouldn't expect to be possible...again, and again. Don't worry though, the story's not confusing in the least bit.
It's a pretty nice game, if you ever wanted a good story to read, but just hate books. And that's not the best part either. The Legend of Dragoon has a battle system unlike any other. Well, if you remember from Super Mario RPG, or even Final Fantasy VIII, you'd have to hit a certain button before swiping at the character in order to immense the size of the damage. In this game it's somewhat different. It's a whole new combo system called Additions. At first, it becomes easy. A two hit combo. A three hit combo. Learning one after another one. Yet, another one later with maybe four or five. They become harder as the game extends. But you'll get used to it.
And that's just half of the battle system. What this game is all about, is within the fights. ThatÂ’s one huge reason why this game is great to buy: Becoming a Dragoon! For each character, you'll have a Dragoon Spirit. And each one has a different element. Such as fire, wind, water, earth and even darkness!
The bottom line is, if you want an epic RPG, with the best magical effects/attacks (and I mean that), some of the sweetest FMV, and a cool story line, this is a great buy. If not, you're missing out.
