I NEED MORE LAUNDRY!

Narrowing down the choices

My washer and dryer were on their way out. Try as I did to avoid it, it was time to suck it up and buy a new set. I read reviews and bought a subscription to Consumer Reports. Once I narrowed it down to what I wanted I researched prices. I wanted to be fully prepared when I walked though the door of the store. I got there and nothing I had on my list was available. So, I had to go based on what I learned about washers and dryers to make my own decision, and I think I did pretty good! From my research you want a stainless steel or a porcelain dryer drum. If you get the kind with a coated drum, buttons, zippers, or other metal objects could damage the coating, which could in turn damage your clothes. One of the LG models I was looking at, the least expensive of the front loaders, had this and I immediately took it off my list. Ok, now onto my choice:



Why I like this dryer

Once you get through the owners manual and get drying you realize this is the coolest dryer you will ever own! There is a sensor system that detects moisture in the clothes. It dries the clothes until they are dry, no longer. No more trying to guess how long you need to dry something! You put your clothes in the dryer, press power, set it to the appropriate setting (Cottons, Permanent Press, Delicates, etc) and hit start. It determines how long you need to dry it!!!! Talk about saving energy!
Here are some of the option buttons on this model:

-Wrinkle care:. If you start your dryer, and know that you will not be available to fold the laundry when it is done, you press the wrinkle care button and it will tumble the load periodically for up to 3 hours after the cycle is done.

-Anti Bacterial: adds high heat to reduce bacteria

-Damp Dry Beep: the dryer will beep when the load is about 80% dry.

-Rack Dry: Use with items such as wool sweaters, silk and lingerie that need to dry flat. Also good for things that should not be tumble dried such as shoes and stuffed animals.


There is also a child lock button to keep little fingers from changing any settings during a cycle and there is a beeper on/off button.

Another handy feature is the Flow Sense indicator. This detects blockages in the dryer ductwork. It has 4 bars, if all 4 bars are lit then you know you need to have the duct cleaned out!!!


Things I don’t like:

So far I have nothing bad to say. This machine is super quiet and I am very happy with it!!!!
