I am not going to lie to you, the ONLY reason I picked the LG VX8500 Chocolate phone in the first place was simply because I liked the way it looked-I did no research on it, I didn't know anything about what it's capabilities were, I simply thought it was "cute" and that was reason enough for me at that time.
However as I have used this phone, I have found many other reasons to love it! I have had this phone for almost a year and a half and have had ABSOLUTELY no problems with it, even having dropped it several times.
This phone has a very trendy, attractive design to it. It comes in several different colors (mine is hot pink). It slides open and shut instead of flipping. It is fairly small, even when it is slid open. The dimensions of the phone are 3.85” H X 1.87”W X 0.67”D.
The front of the phone features a screen, a touch-sensitive wheel for up-down left-right motions, touch sensitive Send and Clear, and a couple other touch sensitive areas used when navigating throughout the phone.
These touch-sensitive areas can be controlled as to their level of sensitivity (Low, Medium, High, and Super) so you can find the level that works best for you and it makes the touch-sensitive areas very easy to use.
When you slide the phone open it reveals the number pad for dialing and text-messaging. The buttons are somewhat small and close together, but I have had very little trouble pushing the right button when I need to. Also when the phone is slid open, the camera lens is positioned on the back of the front panel of the phone. This phone has a 1.3 megapixel camera, and takes decent pictures for a cell phone. It has pretty much the typical features that any modern cell phone has. It can be used as an MP3 player; I have never used this feature of the phone so I can’t say anything about its quality. It also has a microSD slot that can be used for extra storage; I also never use that feature, so I cannot comment about it.
The battery on my phone lasts for quite some time even with all of the text-messaging, and talking that I do, it always lasts at least throughout the whole day and sometimes even through several days without having to be recharged.
As I said earlier, I really have had no problems with this phone, and have enjoyed having it as mine!
