Author's Review
The boss asked me to find him a digital camera for family photo taking. He wanted simplicity, yet quality that would make him look like he was a professional photographer. I did the research and discovered that a 4 megapixel wonder delivered on it's name, EasyShare.
I purchased the DX6440 and began teaching the boss how to use the camera. He immediately felt comfortable with it because he only needed to learn to use three buttons. Here's how easy it is to learn: Turn on the camera by rotating the wheel control and set it to AUTO. Press the button in the center of the wheel to view your subject on the LCD screen, then snap the picture like any other camera with the shutter release button on the top. That's it! To review the pictures you've taken, hit the review button.
Our purchase included the bundled EasyShare Photo Printer as well, so I then proceeded to teach the boss how to take the camera and "nest" it onto the top of the little printer. He could then take his artistic creations and print them directly from the camera or share his talent via email with just a few clicks. He does this frequently now!
There are very few other buttons to learn on this camera, and it's simple to navigate through it's menu system and use it's extra features which include: A USB computer interface port, Video Out (to watch pics on a standard Television), an SD memory card slot, a built in automatic lens cover, 4.0 Megapixels of resolution, Optical Viewfinder, Quicktime(TM) movies with Sound, built in Speaker and 4X Optical Zoom. The DX6440 is efficient on battery usage too. The bundle we purchased included a rechargeable battery.
The moral of the story is, this camera is "technically challenged" friendly. It will impress. Be sure and check out my technology page at www.laserfilm.info !
