I love this toaster - revised 10-29-05

As suggested, I'm adding a few more details to my original review.

The bagel feature on this toaster allows you to toast only the cut (inside) side of the bagel without toasting the outside.

The slots easily accommodate large bagels.

The toasting is very even.

The other main feature, the warmer, is also nice - if your toast has popped up but you have not retrieved it in time, you can warm it back up easily without re-toasting it and perhaps burning it.

The slots/baskets are sturdy, and rise slowly, rather than "popping" up. The entire case is heavy and sturdy and stays put on the counter.

It also has a crumb tray that makes it easy to clean.

Those are all the features. This is not a "fancy" toaster, but a well-built, solid toaster that does what it was meant to do: toast!

If you're like me, you have tried several cheap toasters over the years, not wanting to spend much money for something that, really, let's face it, is just browning bread. How hard should that be, right?

Well, I have spent a ton of money, $10-15 at a time buying the cheap ones and having them, at the least, toast unevenly, and at the worst, burst into flames!

I love this toaster! It is well worth the typical $50 price tag. It is SOLID - once you put it on the counter, it stays put. It toasts bagels fabulously with it's bagel feature that only toasts the "cut" side of the bagel. This is nice because you can get a dark toasted bagel without burning the outside of it! The toasting is even, and the warming feature is nice if you don't get to your toast until it's already cooled.

It comes in many colors - mine is cobalt blue. These are hard to find in stores, but here is a hint. I ordered mine on the Linens n Things website. Not only can you pick whatever color you want, but you can also use your 20% off LNT coupons and shave $10 off the price (although you will pay shipping).
