Author's Review
Kitchen Aid 7 Speed Mixer is a wonderful hand mixer! It is very easy to use and is made of good quality. I had a very old sunbeam from "years" ago and it took me three Christmas' to finally give up the old thing that smoked and barely worked with the least bit in my mixing bowl. I was SO excited after researching and researchng for a very well made hand mixer. And not very suprised was I that I would be so thankful that I had finally gotton me this Kitchen Aid Mixer!
I could not wait to get it out of the box. This mixer usually comes in a variety of colors such as the white, colbolt blue, RED, and even sometimes you can even find it in a banana yellow color! Of course I wanted the RED but they sold out so quickly. I got the colbolt blue and I love it!
TOTAL REPLACEMENT WARRANTY:
The company is so confident the quality of their products meets the exacting standards of KitchenAid that if your mixer should fail within the firs year of ownership, KitchenAide will arrange to deliver a replacement to your door free of charge, then arrange to have your "failed" mixer returned to them. They have a one full year warranty.
Electrical:
Volts: 120 A.C. only. Hertz: 60
This mixer has a polarized plug (one blade is wider then the other). So be sure you have a polarized outlet, which most homes do have.
Features:
You have a "digital" display and when you see the flashing "0" it means power is on and ready to use. You also have a STOP button behind your digital display to it is easy to turn it off. The design of this mixer is very easy to clean. The power cord is very smooth and round. You have a nice non-tip heel rest so the mixer will stay steady on the counter when not in use. The handle is angled which will reduce arm fatigue and with a rounded grip for hands of all sizes. The beaters are made from high quality stainless steel and IS dishwasher safe.
It also has an OFF switch down on the bottom and this is for a safety feature that I like as well because you have the mixer plugged in and may step away....if for any reason anyone was to try and turn it on quickly the power switch turned to OFF would not allow for other fingers to push the digital display and start up the mixer. The switch still has to be ON (even plugged in) for you to start mixing, stirring etc.
The turbobeaters each are abit dfferent and in that I mean one has a "collar" (for the larger opening) and the other one does not. The one with the "collar" (larger one) will go in the larger opening and the one without the collar goes into the smaller hole. These beaters are great and they "stay in" (compared to my very old sunbeam!)
Speeds:
Speed 1: Is for slow stirring, combining, and starting all mixing procedures. Such as: nuts, chocolate chips, shredded cheese, onions, olives and other chunky ingredients.
Speed 2: Stir pancake batter.
Speed 3: Combining heavy mixtures such as cookie dough, mixing light cream cheese spreads and stirring batters and gelatin mixtures.
Speed 4: Combine heavy cream cheese mixtures, mashed potatoes and squash etc.
Speed 5: Mixing muffins, quick breads, batter breads, cake batters and frostings. Also, blending butter and sugar.
Speed 6: Whipping heavy cream and mousse mixtures.
Speed 7: Beating egg whites and mringue mixtures
Let me just say this much....again, I was so very excited about my "new" Kitchen Aid 7 Speed hand mixer and even though it was closer to being towards the END of the holidays last year, I got to whip up SO many cookies and breads for gifts for neighbors and family in "no time"!!! I sang aloud as I threw the old sunbeam in the trash once and for all and just welcomed my new little Kitchen Aid in to my home! (smile) It's so quick and easy and strong and even looks nice! What more would anyone else want!?
