Author's Review
I've been baking since I was tall enough to stand at the kitchen counter and before that, my grandmother sat me on the floor of her kitchen with a bowl and a mixing spoon. So basically I've been baking for my whole life!
I discovered the Kitchen Aid brand in the late 80's and love them. This past Christmas found me in need of a new Kitchen Aid mixer, as my old one burnt out on me (after 13 years!)right in the middle of mixing my Christmas cookies. I went straight to the Kitchen store, I knew exactly what I wanted, the same thing I'd had for the past 13 years and thats exactly what I got.
This mixer is lightweight and easy to handle and has a long cord as well. Its easy to clean, I simply use a damp sponge and dry it off with paper towel. I've learned over the years that if you take care of things, they last longer.
The Kitchen Aid brand is pricier than other brands, but they outlast them 100%, this mixer has 5 speed settings and it can mix just about anything. I basically bake my way through the month of December and that wouldn't be possible without Kitchen Aid. This mixer will mix the heaviest cookie doughs with complete ease and it also does well with simple things like puddings and meringues.
In closing, I'd recommend this Kitchen Aid mixer to anyone who is looking for a handheld mixer, that is lightweight and easy to handle. It handles the heaviest of doughs with ease and is easy to clean. what more would you want?!
