Kia Value and Quality Ever Present in this Capable Compact Car
Pros:
Warranty. Value. Standard Features. Sporty.
Cons:
A little pricey. Only one 138 hp engine available. Not much aftermarket parts.
The Bottom Line:
Great car for the money. There is alot of competition in this segment and Kia does a respectable job with the Spectra SX package.

Author's Review
I was looking for a front-or-four/all-wheel drive car for commuting 68 miles per day, 5 days per week. I needed to have a back seat with some room and a trunk that would fit my golf clubs. I wanted something a little sporty so it was some fun to drive. I wasn't interested in paying for the Honda name, and I drove the Corolla S, The Mazda 3, and the Subaru Impreza. I liked them all. I didn't want a wagon. My wife drives the van and that's enough utility for me. I found the Kia based on it's value, fuel economy, abundance of options, and sporty ride. You also can't beat the warranty. I also received two years of scheduled maintenance too. I chose the SX sedan which above the EX comes with sport suspension, 16 inch alloy wheels with 50-series Goodyears, 4-wheel disk brakes, trunk spoiler, ground effects kit, fog lamps and a power sunroof. This is all for a little over $17k list. It has enough power to get out of it's own way and it looks cool, not to mention, different from the Civics and Corollas out there. Not quite as cool as the Mazda, or as all-weather capable as the Subaru, but, you can't beat the standard features and the warranty. I think it kind of looks like a small Lexus.
