After downloading a Playstation emulator/rom, I realized I needed more than a keyboard to control most games. What I wanted was a simple and inexpensive controller that felt and looked like a Playstation controller. Plus, of course it had to work with my system. I thought that a perfect match may be difficult to find. However, after a very short trip to CompUSA.com, I found the Gravis GamePad Pro was just what I needed. For the price of $14.99, it combined basic features needed for common games, a sleek look, and was an all-around good deal.
The next day, I was out shopping and picked one up. After getting it home, the plug and play capibility had the controller ready to go in seconds.
For those who don't know, a Playstation controller is very comfortable, and this has almost the exact same design. The curves of the controller fit your hands, and it feels very natural. The buttons on the controller move very smoothly.
The gameplay on the Gravis GamePad Pro is terrific. There is instant reaction time, and you have very accurate control over the game. The speed of reaction depends mostly on the speed of your computer at the time, but it's almost always very good. With 10 programable buttons including start and select, this controller is a must have for any gamer!
Conclusion
I tested it out on many games, and found absolutely no difference between that and a regular Playstation controller in terms of both gameplay and physical design. I played mostly Playstation games, however I'm convinced the GamePad Pro will perform just as well on PC games. For those who are interested, the games I tested were mostly racing and action
