Pros:  Looks nice.

The Bottom Line:  Try another brand.

Author's Review

My husband bought this unit for me last year when he went to Sears. I guess the price was attractive and he knows how I suffer when the weather is hot. I probably would have bought the same unit if I were doing the buying - it looks nice, and is lightweight enough so that I can put it in the window on my own. The good stuff stops there. This is a very small room (about 10x15') and it doesn't cool it. It never did. I figured I'd give it a chance, since I'm roasting most of the time anyway. It's not me. I put the unit on and let it run for a while. I had my trusty room thermometer and put it next to the unit to see if there was a change. After 30 minutes, no dice. I then took the same reliable room thermometer and put it directly on the vent area. When I went back about 30 minutes later, the temperature had only gone down 2 degrees. This is May and I live in the Northeast, so it wasn't even that hot out (about 80F). I am definitely ditching this thing since I'll have to find a Kenmore service facility, drive there, drop it off, and wait. I don't think so. It'll cost me more that just going with something else. Not to mention the aggravation factor.
