Short life span

Review: This unit worked very well for a couple of months. It removed moisture very well, but was fairly noisy. Early in the fall it got extremely noisy then stopped dehumidifying altogether.

It removes moisture, and that's okay by me

The Bottom Line: Given other reviews, I was hesitant to buy a Kenmore, but this unit has met my expectations for a dehumidifier.
Review: The dehumidifier is taller than wide, and about as wide as deep. It has handles on the sides, for lifting the unit. The entire device rolls around on built-in casters.

Review: The 54501 did everything you want in a dehumidifier, with easy startup, humidistat and on/off cycle controls. It kept my basement bone dry. Unfortunately, the coils began to repeatedly freeze up in less than 2 years. I'm a big fan of Kenmore...

Review: Like the control options, not unusually noisy for this type of machine, worked fine for 14 months until it started freezing up and quit working. Even with the five year warranty on the sealed unit part they have a $29.95 minimun charge for repair...
