Author's Review
I really enjoy playing Dance Dance. It's a fun game that gets you moving. It's the one video game that I can think of that gets you on your feet instead of sitting for hours on your couch. It's a lot of fun and you can play with your friends too!
The Look
I played with the floor pads. Theyre soft and durable and don't take up much room. You can also purchase the arcade setup with raised block pads and metal hands rails. (BTW the pads come separately from the game, unless you purchase it in a package)
The Music
A definite plus, the music is lively and makes you WANT to get up and play the game. There's plenty of remixes of popular songs.
Setup
The setup isn't confusing and you simply use the floor pads to choose your options. You can choose your character, song, and the level of difficulty.
On Screen
The screen shows either your full screen or split screen, depending on whether or not you have two players. Both sides show the dance character you chose (unless you chose the easiest level, then you are a default player) The top of the screen is the area to watch and shows when and where to step. Simply there are four arrows (that vary) on the screen that float upward. The arrows match the ones on the floor pads. Up, down, left, right. All you have to do is step on the right place at the right time, the pad will do the rest and respond to your steps.
Benefits
It makes you more comfortable to move around to a beat in front of others and just enjoy yourself. It also gets you exercising without feeling like you do when youre at the gym on a treadmill.
I love this game and I would recommend it. Boost your confidence so you can go challenge someone to Dance Dance in public! When I was asked to play I was extremely self conscious at first. But after a few rounds I let loose and just enjoyed playing the game! Next time Im at Valley Fair Im going to challenge one of my friends to the arcade setup. It's an easy game to catch onto and a fun game to sharpen your skills on.
