Pros: Relatively Low Price; Easy to Find
Cons: Not as smooth as other blends
The Bottom Line: This isn't the best Scotch Whiskey but it will do in a pinch and it's very easy to find.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Scotch whiskey is a product originating in its native land of Scotland and it has been distilled for centuries by many different companies and family operations. Among them, the best known of all is that which was founded by a man named John Walker...

Pros: Not as egregiously bad as my horrible experience three years ago would suggest.
Cons: Mmmmm... burnt plastic.
The Bottom Line: What was George Thorogood thinking?
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: My first experience with Scotch a dreadful one is one that is both well-documented on Epinions already, and also sorely imprinted in my own mind. And it involved, in fact, the very spirit that I am now taking a second look at Johnnie Walker's Red...

Pros: Very cost effective. With water this is a very balanced beverage
Cons: Too sweet and too much grain alcohol - make sure you cut this whisky
The Bottom Line: This is a great whisky to have around because of its balance and the price. Use it like it was created for: long drinks.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Johnnie Walker Red Label is the base whisky of its five offerings: Red, Black, Green, Gold, and Blue.

Pros: Cheap price! Add ice and it is passable as a drink.
Cons: Too sweet, simple, a little peat is good, but burn on finish.
The Bottom Line: Cheap, sweet flavored scotch whisky. If you need a scotch as a mix, this is the stuff. If you plan to offer scotch for some serious drinkers, think again.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Famous for all the wrong reasons
Johnnie Walker Red Label is probably the single most famous Scotch whisky in the world. Mention Scotch and people will think Red Label or at least the name of the producer, Johnnie... |

Pros: Decent flavor with lots of smoke. A good buy for the price.
Cons: Lacks complexity. Finishes with more heat than warranted. Very one note.
The Bottom Line: A solid example of blended Scotch, and a nostalgic throwback to what passed for excellence a few decades before the invasion of the single malts.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: At roughly $28.00 a bottle, Johnnie Red is a very decent, respectable whiskey. It has a smokey nose and, predictably, a flavor long on smoke and alcohol, with a fairly long finish full of heat. Other than the smokiness and the heat, there is little...

Pros: Great low price. Interesting treatment of peat on the palate with sweetness.
Cons: Not for the serious scotch tasting event.
The Bottom Line: Great for someone drinking scotch for the first time and wants to see what all the fuss is about. This is easy drinking on ice.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Let me start by . . . saying: "I like Johnnie Walker Red Label!"The critics and snooty self-appointed scotch connosieurs are no doubt aghast at such a declaration, but I say a "pox on them and all their kind!" To borrow...

Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: unrefined, simple
The Bottom Line: As with most things, you get what you pay for.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Red Label is a decent ordinary every-day scotch. (Well, not every day!) Though, it's my favorite in it's class it doesn't even compare to the much more expensive old single malts. I recently had a 30 year old Glenmorangie that gave me some...
