JL Audio 500/1 Car Amp

I had two 500/1 amps powering two 15W3-D2 subs. O.K. but had a tendancy to slap the backplate on the subs. Did not control the speaker at high volumes. The amp also has a tendancy to pick up induced noise on the power side of the power supply. Being a former JL dealer, we had problems with them on the display with an MTi switcher. JL had to produce a module to filter out noise that was sent to every dealer. Most people do not know how inherintly noisy these amps are. Nobody knows the problems they had in multiple source applications when first introduced. They are not made in the USA, actually made in Korea. Stay away from them, go with a good American made amp like Rockford, PPI, or Orion. Save your money.
