As real as it gets

I bought this movie on DVD after seeing the other positive epinions about it. I thought that the scenery was great, the acting was okay (there wasn't enough dialogue to necessitate much acting), but it was the realism that impressed me the most. Redford was depicted as bumbling at first, but he learns over time. The harshness and brutality of the mountains and of the times is readily apparent. This movie is kind of tragic, so I wouldn't recommend it as any sort of "pick me up" but if you are in the mood for realism and a return to simpler times, this is one film worth checking out.
