a love/hate relationship....but i can't part with it

i'd always been intrigued by the Jeep Wrangler and when my '93 Nissan Pathfinder totalled itself (courtesy of a broken timing belt) i took the plunge. my Wrangler is a '99 SE 4 cylinder 5-speed with hard top and tow package. i've loved it and loathed it over the last year (since i bought it) but i have slowly come to appreciate what it is, means, and represents.

first of all, the ride (on the road) ain't real good. AND it sucks gas like a vampire bat. BUT,..it can go ANYWHERE (and you really start to find comfort in that) and is customizable (to the NTH degreee with any number of very affordable parts/options). PLUS,...when you buy a Wranger you are instantly a member of the "Jeep Wrangler Family" and will now be greeted with friendly waves (from fellow Wrangler drivers) who you've never even met. it's pretty cool, actually. if you are like me and detest the gluttonous excess of vehicles like Hummers and leather-coated, silver-plated SUV "station wagons" the a Wrangler is probably for you. look at the Wrangler as a blank "go-anywhere" artist's pallete for free spirits/nature lovers. if you have a little adventurer/explorer/gypsy in you,..please consider this vehicle.
