Extremely good value

I have tried various earbud type headphones and all seem to fall short. Some sound great but feel like I have rocks stuck in my ears. Some are fairly comfortable but come through sounding tinny and washing out at high volume. Needless to say I was skeptical when I bought these, but at $20 I figured maybe, just maybe these would be different.

The first thing I noticed about them (by reading the package) was that they have an extremely low-end range: 8Hz. That is one of the lowest I have seen. I debated about the high end, a fairly average 23kHz but since I listen to Trance music (something you should try if you never have), the low bass won out over competing models and I bought them.

I find them to be very comfortable so far. They have very soft pads that are easy to insert into your ear and they don't put a lot of pressure on them. They are also very lightweight which makes wearing them for extended periods easy, although if you are not used to having things in your ears it may be irritating at first. I spent years wearing ear plugs on construction jobs so it seems very comfortable to me.

The sound is very good. The bass is HEAVY. And unlike other models I have used, I can kick the equalizer all the way up without overdriving them. The treble end is not amazing, but it is very adequate.

Noise blocking is very good. They block out all surrounding office annoyances effectively without having to kick the volume up to unhealthy levels.

A note of clarification: these are not "noise cancelling" which uses an active inverse audio wave to filter out external noise. Instead they are noise isolation. They just block the openings to your ear canals with a soundproof material. The effect is very good though.
