Outdoor use only

When I first tried these speakers out, I was discouraged. When I compared them side-by-side to my indoor speakers, I could easily hear a very noticeable overemphasis in the 1KHz to 4KHz range. To hear this, imagine you're listening to a full orchestra, but hearing the sound of a sharp trumpet predominate. This sound made the speakers immanently locatable and ruined imaging completely.

However, once they where mounted outside the lack of harmonic resonance from an enclosed space drastically quieted the 1KHz to 4KHz sound. The speakers took on a flatter, more balanced sound.

With the trumpet sound was reduced, I could better hear a lack of clarity and a rather weak bass. I guess that helped the sound from carrying to the neighbors too much.

The speakers are not mounted in any form of bracket; with only four screw holes in the back and one odd-sized one at the bottom of each speaker. I had to find 4, 1/4-20 brass screws and manufacture a suspension system that pointed the speakers in the correct orientation. This was a hassle to say the least.
