Go and buy Invader ZIM on DVD, vile Earth monkeys!
Date of Review: May 16, 2004
The Bottom Line: Zim is full of witty, insane comedy that hasn't been offered in any cartoon show before. A truly unique show.
A must have for any fan of artist Jhonen Vasquez, notoriously known for Johnny The Homicidal Maniac and Squee!. Vasquez toned down his violence, language, and depressing thoughts for this Nick show.
The story is about an alien, from the Irken race, who is sent to a 'mystery planet' intended as a wild goose chase. The mystery plant turns out to be our own Earth. Equipped with his robot sidekick, GIR, Zim meets Dib on earth, a slight geek for the paranormal, and his game-obsessed sister, Gaz.
The DVD has two discs, containing a total of nine episodes, and the original pilot for the show, commentary by Jhonen Vasquez, the voices of the characters, and other producers. Also included are interviews, animatics, pig commentary, irken subtitles, and a Spanish language track.
