Go and buy Invader ZIM on DVD, vile Earth monkeys!

Date of Review: May 16, 2004

The Bottom Line:  Zim is full of witty, insane comedy that hasn't been offered in any cartoon show before. A truly unique show.
A must have for any fan of artist Jhonen Vasquez, notoriously known for Johnny The Homicidal Maniac and Squee!. Vasquez toned down his violence, language, and depressing thoughts for this Nick show.

The story is about an alien, from the Irken race, who is sent to a 'mystery planet' intended as a wild goose chase. The mystery plant turns out to be our own Earth. Equipped with his robot sidekick, GIR, Zim meets Dib on earth, a slight geek for the paranormal, and his game-obsessed sister, Gaz.

The DVD has two discs, containing a total of nine episodes, and the original pilot for the show, commentary by Jhonen Vasquez, the voices of the characters, and other producers. Also included are interviews, animatics, pig commentary, irken subtitles, and a Spanish language track.

Disc 1 includes:
The Nightmare Begins [Commentary]
Zim is assigned his mission, and his robot, GIR, and goes to Earth, Dib is the only one suspicious of him.
Bestest Friend [Commentary]

Dark Harvest [Commentary]
Zim harvests children's organs.
Attack of the Saucer Morons [Commentary]
Zim is abducted by people at a UFO convention.
The Wettening [No commentary]
Zim discovers one of his weaknesses, water.

Disc 2 includes:
Career Day [No commentary]
Zim goes through a molting, and works at a fast food joint.
Battle-Dib [No commentary]
Dib has to go through challenges to meet his own father, and to expose Zim.
Planet Jackers [Commentary]
The Planet Jackers abduct Earth and endanger Zim's mission.
Rise of the Zitboy [No commentary]
Zim gets a pimple with hypnotic powers.
Invasion of the Idiot Dog Brain [Commentary]
GIR gains complete control of the secret base.
Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy [Commentary] [Pig Commentary]
Zim ruins Dib's past.
A Room With a Moose [Commentary]
Zim attempts to abduct a skool bus full of children back to his home planet.
Hamstergeddon [Commentary]
Zim creates a giant hamster, Ultra Peepi, to destroy the human race.
Original Pilot [Commentary]
Zim gets an allergic reaction the cafeteria food.

Zim is sure to entertain any age, and hardcore fans will defiantly love the.. somewhat insightful.. commentary by cast and production crew.

Sing the Doom Song, over, and over, and over again! You know you want to.
