Author's Review

I bought this album later than i should have. I had most of the songs downloaded onto my computer until curiousity got to me and i needed to see the album artwork. Sadly there wasnt much but im still glad i bought this album. It is one of the pieces of plastic that mean the most to me.

This album starts off with an introduction entitled "romance" that sounds like it was taken from an old record player. Then goes right into "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two of Us" and right away you get a taste of what My Chemical Romance is all about. Hard Pounding guitars and quick lyrics throughout the song. With clever imagery and a tempo you can shake your head to. This song remains one of my favorites.

"Vampires Will Never Hurt You" is the song that everyone thinks of when they think of My Chemical Romance. Although im not sure why. It is intense beyond belief and has good lyrics. It isnt any better than the other songs on this album. But oh well it isnt my job to understand the public.

"Drowning Lessons" was always a title i thought humorous. With clever references to weddings this song is yet again one of my favorites. I especially like "all im asking for is a thousand bodies piled up"

"Our lady Sorrows" shows once again MCR's fondness of utilizing a fast pace and hard rocking. This song cannot be fully appreciated until seen live. Although its awesome on the album. There is just something special about seeing it played in person.

"HeadFirst For Halos" Is a sort of precursor of the MCR to come. This song is one that reminds me the most of their next album. So if you enjoy this song. You should check out "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge"

"Skylines and Turnstiles" but will be enjoyed none the less if you like them the way i do.

"Early Sunsets Over Monroeville" is easily the slowest song on the album. Although i didnt like it at first it slowly grew on me after a few listens. Especially the second half. (on a side note im fairly sure its about the original dawn of the dead circa 1972)

"This is the best day ever" is the shortest song on the album and a nice fast pace which is kind to my ears after hearing "early sunsets"

"Cubicles" is one of my favorite songs ever because it deals with subject matter that you dont normally deal with on a surface level. Office Romances are rarely put in songs because frankly, anyone who writes song probably doesnt work in an office building.

and finally "Demolition Lovers" which begins beautifully slowly only with guitar and gerard singing then brings in the other instrumentals. This song starts out slowly but ends in a bang. and contains my favorite lyric "now how much i want to show you youre the only one/like a bed of roses theres a dozen reasons in this gun"

"demolition lovers" also deserves a special note because it becomes the basis for the storyline of the next album.

Album art:nice cover and back panel. yet the pamphlet is lacking.
