Love My Tucson

We wanted a small SUV, something we could drive for two years and then hand down to our daughter when she went to college. After much research and test-driving several makes/models, we decided on the Tucson. We made a great deal on a 2005 ($14K + trade-in) and I absolutely love this car!!

It drives like a car, unlike Toyota's RAV-4 and the Honda CRV. It is smooth and easy to maneuver. We have gone on one long trip during the initial break-in period. We drove 60 mph and got 24 mpg. I am getting about 20 mpg in the city. In addition, I was not exhausted after the trip.

The safety rating is 5 star with standard air bags (6) and an excellent roll-over rating (did not roll, only tipped).

For a small SUV, it has plenty of leg room in the front and back seats and plenty of cargo room. I love the standard cargo net, too. The rear door has a window hatch which is convenient for putting in small parcels and not having to open the whole door.

Oh, it has a great sound system, too! AM/FM/cassette/CD/MP3 player with wonderful speaker system (6)!! My teenagers love it. Better than what we had in the Toyota Sienna and as good as the system in our Volvo.

Lights are excellent for night driving. Good stopping ability. Overall a great car! I am not sure if I will be able to give it up to my daughter now! I will probably purchase another Tucson...and I am glad I did not get the Santa Fe. This is just the right size for us!

We have owned two Toyotas, two Volvos and a Mazda. All of these were/are great cars (except the Mazda), but I love this little Hyundai!
