Few Hospital Visits - Less Allergy Suffering - Holmes Air Purifiers

The Bottom Line: Works Great - Made Well As My Kids Have Not Broke These Air Purifiers In The Time We Have Owned Them.
I bought this HOLMES AIR PURIFIER for me and my son to use to try to lower our allergens in the air so our asthma would get better.
When my son started having asthma in the night is when I really got concerned. I was afraid for him to sleep in his own bed because of him struggling to breathe and no one knowing. After a few times of having to rush him to the hospital we got him into his pediatrician.
I decided after seeing the pediatrician that we needed to find preventative approaches to controlling his asthma. So we took out the carpets in the house and redid the hardwood floors, bought mattress and pillow encasings, and took down curtains.
I bought this HOLMES AIR PURIFIER because I saw it at the local Walmart and thought we should at least try it. It was around $50. At first we just had it in one room of the house but after seeing the difference in the air I went to Walmart and bought a 2nd one for another room.
Just take it out of the box, plug it in, and turn it on. We keep it on at all times, and it doesn't get hot! That is a big plus with kids.
The unit is small. It measures 13 inches in deep, 7 inches high and 20 inches long.
There is a adjustable knob on the top of the unit where you can select from Off, High, Normal and Quiet. This isn't loud, it is more of a white noise type sound just from the fan in it. We keep this HOLMES AIR PURIFIER on high at all times.
There is a 2nd adjustable knob where you can select from ionizer Off or On. I leave it with the ionizer On. (An ionizer is a collection of vibrating needles in the unit that release negative ions into the air. These negative ions some into contact with small airborne particles and join with positively changed particles to form a larger particle. This larger particle can then be drawn back into the unit in the air stream. It will then be captured in the filter.)
I notice when I am sitting close to the HOLMES AIR PURIFIER I feel a little cold due the fan inside it, but I can handle this when it comes to my sons allergies and my allergies.
I have never noticed any smell put off from operating this.
This HOLMES AIR PURIFIER is Virtually Indestructable as my husband and I have two kids, ages 4 and 8, and neither of them have broken either of our 2 air purifiers. This is a Very Well Made Product!
Replacing the HEPA Filters is very easy! I do this about once every few months. The filters are easy found at my local Walmart too. (HEPA is a type of highly efficient filtration media that removes microscopic particles from air passing through the filter.)

I would definitely recommend a HOLMES AIR PURIFIER to anyone with allergies and asthma. It really helps us to clear the impurities out of the air on a constant basis. From cleaning the impurities out we have noticed fewer sneezing, coughing, and asthma attacks!
