Buy the Bundle Game (unless you have a mic)
Date of Review: May 27, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would buy it again but I would buy the bundle unless if you don't have a microphone. My girls like to sing so it is fun.
I made the mistake of just buying the game, because I found it at a wonderful deal. On the outer packaging it says that you only need nunchucks. BUT, once you open the game it says that you need to have a microphone plugged into at all times. This was a bummer for us, considering yesterday was my 7 year olds birthday and this was one of her gifts. We solved the problem by buying American Idol to get the microphone.
Once that problem was solved. My 7 year old and 11 year old are having a blast. My 11 year old can score A's because she knows all the songs. My 7 year old is scoring C's but she is having fun!
High School Musical: Sing It for the Nintendo Wii takes on the successful Disney movie franchise by letting you play your favorite High School Musical characters like Zac and Britney into the control of your own voice. The gameplay is just like other games that involve singing like American Idol, as you sing along to songs from the 2 Disney movies, High School Musical 1 & 2, like What Time Is It? and many others. The graphics are fair to look at, but the gameplay doesn't seem to draw into anyone but die hard fans of the movie. The sound fairs well, but the enjoyment of this game doesn't appeal to anyone who hasn't watched the loveable film series, but die hard fanatics alone of Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, or for those who just love songs from movies that are young at heart.
All in all, High School Musical is a great concept for the moment, but it just isn't as much of a must buy for Wii owners. It is a good party game, but I really would just consider this concept as a rental game only. It is definitely time to find something else to play, considering High School Musical: Sing It just misses the mark.
