It just can't stop working

I have used this printer for more than 2 years now and it is still working fine. This is the first laser printer that i bought after getting tired of bubblejet printers which uses ink as though it was free and also the fact that the ink smears easily.

The Features of this Printer

- The Design of this printer is very compact, using very little of my desktop place.

- This printer allows you to decide whether you want the paper to come out from the top or the bottom by a flick of the switch. This is a very useful feature.

- This printer prints 6 pages per minute meaning it would take 10 seconds to print a page which is good enough for even the most demanding home users.

- Patented instant-on fuser eliminates printer warmup time.(this allows you to print the moment you want to print a page, some laserjet printers needs time to heat up before they can print)

- 18-second first-page-out speed cuts the time spent waiting for documents.

- 600x600 dpi although not as good as current printers but it is good enough for everyday work.

- 4 floppy disk to set up the Drivers of the printer

Installation:

Plugging the printer to the computer is easy. All you need to do is connect the parallel port to the computer and the power cord to the power outlet.

Installation of Software:

You just need to connect the printer to your computer and restart it in order for it to recognise the printer. Then all you need to do is follow the instructions on screen.

Refill

A refill would probably cost you 35dollars but it would last you a long time and in my two years of using this printer, I have changed the cartridge only 3 times.

Changing the refill is not such a hard task on this printer too since it provides a manual which pretty much explains everything.

Tech Support

Although this product is already a few years old now but you can still order the parts from HP.And I have not encountered any problems so far except for the fact that there are some brands of paper that the printer refuse to take in properly.

Problems

This printer seems to be choosy on the brand of paper it takes.Strange. I tried switching to Canon paper but it would just suck all the paper right in but when i use back Xerox paper everything works fine.

Recommendation

This is really a no non-sense printer. My father who has about 2000 word files saved on his hard disk did not complain about this printer and he is still using it until today.

Not to mention that this printer is about 75 dollars now.
