Author's Review
I decided to try the game since I love the movie. There were some who told me to not bother with it cause "games based off movies suck," which is usually right. This one however was different because it takes you through the entire movie, but its a game.
My favorite levels are the belly-sledding ones. The swimming levels are little harder because if you miss even one speed boost, you lose a lot of time. The levels where your dancing were actually kind of retarted because the arrow patterns were no where near as challenging as some of those DDR songs are, but it's still entertaining to watch Mumble do what he does best. Family mode should've been: -up to 4 players
-choose a character to sled, swim, or
dance as (Mumble, Gloria, Memphis, Norma
Jean, any of the "amigos" (dont know their
names) or Lovelace)
Possible improvements for the dancing:
-full blown DDR Mode, HAPPY FEET STYLE!!
Overall its a pretty good game. One thing thats disappointing is that only 2 of the original cast members from the movie (Wood and Murphy) are used for the game. There just isnt as much energy that all the other characters add to the effect it might have on someone.
The use of songs and audio from the movie was well done even though you might have to turn up your volume if you want to hear the background music.
Sound wise the game is well put together. You can hear the sledding against the ice, taps for the dance levels are precise and in sync with the sight.
Its a fun game, but like every other game out there, it has its weak points. Such as lack of original cast voices, repetetiveness, and simple as can be arrow patterns.
It you're someone who is not impressed with games made for movies, this is not a game for you.
