Pros: Looks good and has built in timer that beeps

Cons: Didn't get over 360 degrees when set to 375. Outer walls get very hot

I got this today a JCPenny for 47.99. I filled it with oil (almost a full gallon!) and the food was just barely covered in oil. The temperature ready light came on when I set it to 375 but my digital thermomerter only read 340. I let it sit for 5 minutes and the highest temp I got was 360. When you drop the food into the oil, it takes about 3 minutes till it comes back to proper temp.(Frozen fries and onion rings) The outer walls are stainless steel and get very hot after use.
Everything can go into the dishwasher except the heating coil.
The unit is rated at 1500 watts so this is going back. I guess I"ll look for something with a higher wattage (1800 watt)
I looks nice but functionality is more important to me.
